Italmatch Chemicals announces the signing of a definitive agreement for the purchase of the majority of Alcolina shares. This transaction strengthens Italmatch’s water treatment positioning and portfolio with complementary applications and end markets.

Founded 27 years ago, Alcolina is a Brazilian chemical company specializing in water treatment products for bioethanol, sugar production and industrial applications (including paints and pulp & paper). It has two manufacturing sites in Brazil (Cravinhos and Rio Lago), 80 employees and a turnover of 35 million euros in 2023.

Thanks to this acquisition, Italmatch is also strengthening its presence in the Latin American market, started in 2017 with the creation of the local subsidiary Italmatch Do Brasil, followed by the key acquisition of Sudamfos do Brasil. In 2022, the Group has also signed a collaboration and licence agreement for a leading technology development for the Latin American sugar market, “SugarMaxx®”, for the use of chemicals in the process of colour stabilization of sugar cane.
